Step-by-Step Process

  1. Purchase Your FMAA Exam Registration from PRC
    Start by placing your order through our website. You’ll receive an email confirmation from PRC confirming that we’ve received your payment.
  2. We Forward Your Information to the IMA
    PRC will submit your registration details to the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) — the official body responsible for administering the FMAA Exam.
  3. Wait for the IMA to Contact You
    Within 5 business days, the IMA will send you an email with:
    • Instructions to access or create your IMA account
    • Your Authorization to Test (ATT)
    • Steps to schedule your FMAA exam with Prometric

Be sure to check your spam/junk folder. If you haven’t received the IMA email within 5 business days, contact PRC so we can follow up on your behalf.

Registration & Payment

❓ I paid the exam fees. What exactly does PRC do?
PRC’s role is to:
• Confirm your order and payment
• Collect your registration details
• Submit your information to the IMA

After that, the IMA takes over and will send your Authorization to Test (ATT) and instructions to schedule your exam.

❓ I paid for the exam but haven’t received any email from the IMA. What should I do?
You should receive an email from the IMA within 5 business days of PRC submitting your information. If you don’t receive anything after 4 business days, please contact PRC Customer Support.

❓ Do you accept multiple payment methods?
Yes. PRC accepts secure payments via credit and debit cards. If you face issues, please contact our support team.

🔔 Important Note: Use Your Passport Details When Registering
When registering, your full name and details must exactly match your valid passport — including spelling, birthdate, and ID number — to avoid delays with IMA approval.

❓ When will I be able to schedule my exam?
You can schedule your exam as soon as you receive the Authorization to Test (ATT) from the IMA...

❓ Is the exam available in my country?
The FMAA examination is administered at Prometric Testing Centers located throughout the world.

❓ Who do I contact if I need to reschedule or cancel my exam?
Once you receive your ATT, any changes must be done through Prometric or the IMA. PRC does not manage exam appointments.

❓ Will I receive a reminder from PRC before my exam date?
No. PRC does not send reminders. Once your exam is scheduled, it’s your responsibility to track the date. We recommend setting calendar alerts.

 Exam Day Information

❓ What should I bring to the exam center?
Bring valid, unexpired identification:

  • You must present either:

    • One original, unexpired primary ID with a photo and signature, or

    • Two original, unexpired secondary IDs (one with photo, one with signature).

  • Primary ID options (need only one):

    • National Identity Card

    • Passport

    • U.S. Passport Card

    • Government-issued National ID

    • EU Identity Card

    • Government-issued driver’s license

  • Secondary ID options (need two):

    • Military ID Card

    • PAN Card (India)

    • Aadhar Card (India)

    • Voter ID (India)

    • Postal ID (Philippines)

    • Bank ATM/debit/credit card (with signature)

  • IDs must be original (no photocopies or digital versions).

  • The photo must resemble the candidate, and the signature must match the exam roster.

  • No valid ID = No exam, and you'll need to re-register and pay the full fee.

  • For international applicants, the passport is the best choice since it includes your information in your local language plus English.

❓ Can I use a calculator during the exam?
Yes. Only non-programmable calculators are allowed:
• Texas Instruments BA II Plus
• HP 10bII+
• HP 12c
• HP 12c Platinum

❓ How long is the exam and what does it include?
The exam is 2 hours long and includes 80 multiple-choice questions across five topics:

  1. General Accounting and Financial Management
  2. Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis
  3. Planning and Budgeting
  4. Cost Management and Performance Metrics
  5. Professional Ethics

❓ Can I review my answers after finishing the exam?
No. Once you submit the exam, you cannot return to previous questions or make changes.

 Exam Results & Retakes

❓ When will I receive my exam results?

  • English exam: Results appear immediately after completing the test and are also emailed.
  • Arabic exam: Results are released 4 weeks after the end of the exam month.

❓ I didn’t receive my exam results. What should I do?
If results are delayed, please contact the IMA directly.

❓ I took the exam but didn’t pass. What should I do?
• You must wait 30 days before retaking the exam.
• PRC does not handle retakes or re-registration fees.

 After Certification

❓ What score do I need to pass the exam?
You need a minimum score of 200 out of 300 to pass.

❓ Is continuing education required after certification?
Yes. FMAA holders must complete 15 hours of CPE annually (including 1 hour in ethics) and pay a yearly renewal fee to maintain certification.
