If you are considering pursuing CIA certification, it is important to be informed about the costs involved. This guide is designed to help you make informed decisions and confidently move forward in your journey towards an internal audit career. It outlines the key expenses you can expect and provides guidance on how to navigate the process successfully. The CIA certification cost has the following components: examination fees, study materials, exam retake and reschedule fees, and IIA membership.
The CIA exam fees are different in each country, based on income. For an accurate presentation of the fees please visit the IIA’s website. The fees mentioned here are the standard fees applied in the USA, and generally in high income countries.
The fees also differ between IIA members and non-members. Although the IIA membership has its advantages, but you might consider applying to the exams without becoming a member.
There are several types of memberships in the IIA. Here are the available options in Canada and the USA. Please check with your local chapter first, since membership in your local chapter might provide the same benefit as membership in the global IIA. It’s an investment matter what options you select, the long-term return on your investment in the CIA certification is higher than the costs. The benefits you will reap throughout the years will definitely exceed the investment you put into becoming a Certified Internal Auditor.
